The KSE-100 rebounded 2,592.79 points, or 1.56%, to close at 168,460.10 as buying returned across major sectors following Monday’s sharp sell-off.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a strong recovery on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The KSE-100 Index gained 2,592.79 points, or 1.56%, to close at 168,460.10, recovering most of Monday’s decline.

Buying emerged across automobiles, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration, OMCs, power and refinery stocks. Index-heavy names including OGDC, PPL, POL, HBL, NBP, UBL, HUBCO and ARL were among the stocks supporting the rebound. The index remained volatile, however, falling to 165,651.67 before recovering to an intraday high of 168,626.18.

The recovery followed easing international oil prices and improved sentiment in global markets. Monday’s sharp decline had been driven by domestic political uncertainty, regional tensions and elevated crude prices.
